Dusk on the 33
Over the Spring, I’ve been lucky enough to work with Three Score Dance Company and the University of Chichester in an intergenerational dance project for my new song Dusk on the 33. It’s the story of an old woman riding the buses to keep warm, whom no-one notices.
The dance, choreographed by the wonderful Jason Keenan-Smith on a double decker bus, has been filmed by Steve Brockerton of Shutterpoint, and we’re in the process of editing it. Even though a number of my videos have dance in them, I’d not worked with dancers in real life before, and it’s been a fantastic experience.
The film will be most likely be released in September around the time that my new album, What Lies Beneath comes out. It will come out first on YouTube, and you can get a reminder by subscribing to my YouTube channel with the button below.

Petworth Sessions
Petworth’s very own not for profit music club
My partner Kate and I, and a bunch of our friends, run monthly gigs in Petworth, West Sussex, where we match established touring musicians with up and coming artists, make sure both are paid properly, and have a lot of fun making it as beautiful as possible.
Recently. this has grown into a wider not for profit organisation to promote live music in West Sussex, and to work with other organisations to support artists. It’s relatively early days yet, but if you’re in this world, we’re open to conversations about how we might work together.

Four Left Feet
A non-profit booking agency by musicians for musicians
When I was starting out with Serious Child, I find getting decent gigs the hardest part of the job, and in talking to other musicians, it was a similar story. But then, working first with Andy Ruddy and Kirsty McGee, and then with Jo Beth Young (now Joanna Descombes), I realised that these things are much better done together than alone. So we set up Four Left Feet (named for people who can’t dance) to support each other in touring.
